We joined with our missional community 'Thrive' one evening and worked determinedly to pack 25 plus hampers for distribution in the following days prior to Christmas. By the time we finished, the bags were very full and it might have been prudent to have prepared 30 plus bags at the start. We were gladdened by the wonderful generosity from the business community during the previous weeks to have such a collected 'stash' in the first place, and our commitment was to honour that trust. This also included the work of distributing these many full to busting bags to people on the list. We hoped that what people found in their bags helped them feel the extended Christmas cheer and love from all our community. There were even a few gluten free bags especially prepared for certain families. These are small beginnings. Imagine how it might be a few years down the track.
