Funky Birthdays

We met at Ferntree Gully Rec. Reserve for a grandkids double birthday and many days before the actual dates. This was a way of making the month of March a little less thick with stuff. We had a super time. The playground had many unique and exotic equipment for everyone to try out. The cakes had sparklers so blowing out was impossible but fun. We finished with a long game of tiggy. Peter had a good looking fall and is supporting a bruise for it. Wonderful memories.

Tallarook Woodcraft 2

This week at Tallarook it was vehicles and the kids were encouraged to embellish theirs with extra items from the trays for a more unique look. Some very innovative designs were produced much to Peter's delight, as the following pictures show.

One clever student made "Titanic" out of a number of off-cuts.

Whittlesea Woodcraft 2

This week it was simple vehicles (again) only more of them. It worked out well enough even though the wheels were a little hard to force onto the axles.

Whittlesea Market

We don't often blog about this but most months we both help at a Saturday market at Whittlesea. It is a very small market. It will be nice if more of the townfolk come. They are a bit thin on the ground and the stall holders don't get the trade for their stuff that they would like. Here's hoping that things will somehow turn around. And for the question why the extension platform? Possibly the builders next door wanted to take a high up photo. Peter should have hopped aboard too.

Tallarook Woodcraft

The first woodcraft at Tallarook for the year was something very free. The kids were given a sheet of ply and invited to glue any number of pieces of wood to make a box? a house? a sculpture? They got to it like ducks to water.
