CFA Incursion

Members of the CFA (Country Fire Authority) came to Peter's school and spoke to all the children, doing it at different levels, first with grades 5&6, then grades 3&4, and with the young ones in the last session of the day. The presentation was focused on what to do if caught in a burning house. It was very clear and visually engaging for the kids. Thank you CFA for coming to the school.

Natural Dying

Barb is starting to really get into dying now. Second hand blankets are rolled and bound tightly with selected native flora and steamed in a huge pot to transfer the colours. Each dying offers new surprises. Hopefully there will be keen interest in these amazing blankets when they puts them up for sale at a community market.

Craig 48

We had a celebration of Craig's 48th  at our place. We tried a different 'table' for it, the market folding one and it worked a treat for both the meal, the cake and the Ticket To Ride game afterward.

Stacey 18

We drove to Hoppers Crossing to celebrate Stacey's 18th birthday. We have known her from infancy and have travelled with this precious family since that time. Barb gave Stacey one of her natural-dye blankets.

May Market

This was how our dried fruit and nut stall was set up this time. There was an attempt to make it more flow through. We had a reasonable turn out this month. The weather perfectly fine.

On Mothers Day

Mother's Day was special this year. Bec dropped in. Simon did too. Dan called (cos he had to work). Then at night we noticed that Mars was in line with the Moon in a clear sky. It seemed very symbolic that Mars would sit under the moon that night (obviously different for those in the Northern Hemisphere), as we reflected on how special mothers were in our lives.

Jasper's Seventh

Last Sunday we made it to Gembrook to add to the celebrations surrounding Jasper's seventh birthday. We were a day early and so it was a special extra party for him before other one/s on the day. We had found just the right gifts over the year that suited him: a Mechano set spider, a magician set, and a 'put-put' boat (which said "not for children". Jazzy enjoyed it all especially lighting his birthday candles with the stove lighter. A nice day all round.
