Breakfast Journey

There are some interesting similarities between both pictures, one of a weekly breakfast club at Peter's school and the other the famous Last Supper (both filtered). There is compositional symmetry, a similar number of people, a long table combination (three foldable types), wall hangings, doors and distant space, white bread (toasted or not), breakfast juice or wine, lines on the floor, and Christ sits at both tables...

Woodcraft Journey

Peter shares some of the woodcraft projects he has done with the kids of the school in second semester. Most of it starts from an idea offered by one of the children and Peter takes on the challenge to see if it can be made as a set that can be assembled easily (30 minutes). Once a prototype is sorted out Peter usually makes them in larger numbers such as eight at a time. It has been quite a journey of creative fun and challenge. Bunnings makes material donations and the school covers for expenses where necessary.

Cat Sitting

These two elegant cats are the subject of a month long commitment for Barb, that of visiting these two cats daily to give them company and fresh food, till their owners return from overseas. So far Barb has been able to keep at it and on occasions we both went to the unit and relaxed for an hour there. These two feline friends appreciate the human company... and the food.

Sandy Point Visit

We visited Liz and Doug at their home at Sandy Point. This place is close to Wilson's Promontory and the mountains in the background of these group photos are from the Promontory. The weather was super. Peter even had a swim in the ocean. It brought back memories of his navy diving training, such was the water temperature. We stayed with Liz and Doug one night.

The unique streetscape of the town... all the streets like this

Family Visiting

Madonna and John came across from Tasmania and joined up with Kelli and Simon. We caught up with them at Kelli's unit (the one in Fitzroy). It was a lovely time for all.

City View

We had an opportunity to be up one of the residential towers in Fitzroy (Kelli's place for the time being). From the seventh floor this is the view south across the housing estate towards Melbourne city. The other two pictures offer some closer detail. In some ways the buildings have a large scale architectural model look about them.

Spirals

It seemed a nice thing to post on a recently discovered theme... spirals. They can be found in nature and manufactured as in the case of stairs.

Biking for Coffee

We did this early in the month and forgot to blog it... a moment where we went riding together to a cafe for a cuppa. It was a very nice time as the picture may suggest.

St Judes Fire

During the 80's our family attended this church for seven years. We remained on a high learning curve serving there before losing heart over where we were headed and moving on. We were shocked to hear what happened last month. Not sure exactly what that will mean for this large and varied church family. God has a way of turning things around for good (Rom 8:28) and teaching for new ground through a crisis. At present St Judians are using a school in North Melbourne for Sunday service.

Tea Tree Sand Dune Walk Sandy Point

We have just returned from a wonderful weekend with friends at Sandy Point, on the southern coast of Victoria. For us to go to and from the pristine beach we had to walk along an amazing path with tea trees on both sides and even over us. We share the walk with you HERE.
