Finding Closure for Our Trip

Barb, Madonna, Dan & David returned seven days after Peter who was able to meet them coming through the immigration doors. They were a little glum, still thinking of family far away... and needing a coffee after their 22 hour trip. It has been such an epic level holiday that we had every reason to feel sad and reflective. We also feel glad and refreshed for what we have all been through... with wonderful memories of our Canadian family reunion [#fab_adventure].

Having a last lunch with Madonna before her flight home...

Though Melbourne was extremely windy, the flight was not cancelled, so Madonna could fly and we had the perfect closure to our FunkAcklandBerkeley_Adventure.

Flying Home

The wild ride was ending for Peter as he contemplated this train model at Vancouver Airport. They were flying along as so was he... sadly... home.

Bye-bye..

Canadian Wild Flowers

At a long baby feeding pit-stop along Canada's Trans-national Highway [1], we were surrounded by wild flowers of all kinds. This photo essay is posted in memory of that place and for the flowers that spring up in Canada's Summer.

Blue bells...

Alberta Rose with a predator waiting for a meal to drop in...

This young Spruce tree (?) at the same location.

Humming Bird

There is a bit of an art to this. First, one has to be careful not to move quickly for the camera. Everybody in the room has to hush and not move. Then as you have the camera ready the humming bird just might fly away without notice because the dog just happened to be walking past outside... or the cat. What a shy bird. Peter considers himself lucky to have taken these pictures. They are not much for print quality but catches nonetheless. And the challenge made it all the more fun... for that elusive one.

Candid Moments

On his last day there, Peter went about snapping final memories and these are just a small token of the memories to be had. There was always someone doing something that seemed very special...

Quad Rides

Bryan was kind and thoughtful to consider bringing his quad over on this day. Piper and Jasper were very happy to have a ride each and Bryan took them around the house many times and over a large grassy mound many times to give them a thrill with the four wheel traction.
