Family Gangster Photo

Before we concluded Dan's Party at the Park we gathered for a family photo. We tried the gangster look. Not all family members could hold a gangster pose long enough and so it is an odd assortment of expressions for our family to look back on and smile. And what a nice tree to do a family snap. The great old tree did the trick.

Daniel's Birthday

Daniel's real birthday was earlier and he went to Sydney with friends to celebrate his big three-O-milestone. This collection of memories catches our time today with Dan for his milestone, a beautiful day with our beautiful family. The Funks drove from Gembrook to be here and Simon from Bulleen. The meal which Barb had total control of was called 'brunch'. Afterward we threw a frisbee for a long while and attempted to throw basketball hoops. It turned out to be a fantastic day.

Peter made a video of action about this brunch and you can watch it by clicking here.

Luna Eclipse

This has just happened about an hour ago - a blood moon over Melbourne. They are supposed to be fairly rare even though there is supposed to be another next April. The above was Peter's best effort before the cloud cover thickened up and we lost the moon completely. It was made darker still by the cloud cover.

This was the moon a few nights earlier with the same kind of cloud cover. It is useful to see the difference.

Jasper Looming

This is worthy of mention from our visit to the Funks. A while ago we had given Jasper a simple loom (two unsharpened pencils bound together) and a packet of loom bands. He went to town and linked the whole packet. His woven snake is the longest we have seen. Well done Jaz.

Trampoline Time

One of the family rituals surrounding a visit to the Funks is to spend some time visiting the Funk trampoline to witness our grandchildren's newly acquired skills or simply to play a role play game like wizards and chickens and things. This involves taking of our shoes as well and getting onto the mat as well. It is pretty fun all round and just sometimes we get a few super bounce photos like these.

Later, Gord decided to clean out the space under the trampoline because it was getting very overgrown. More on this later.

Visiting Gembrook Again

The Funks have settled into the Gembrook community again and we travelled there yesterday for a day visit. There were a few firsts. One was the "cave" cake that Barb made. Later on for afternoon tea, Barb produced a Chocolate Moose Cake for a late celebration of Gord's landmark birthday. It was a happy and relaxed family reunion.
