Radium Hot Springs Gorge

We pulled up camp and left Banff to travel to Fairmont Hot Springs. We had to pass a small traffic jam on the Trans-Canada Highway because so many people had stopped to view two grizzlies walking across an open field (!). We were later told that the high wire fence the people stood at was no barrier to these bears which had the speed and strength to tear it to pieces in seconds. Scary stuff.

This bridge is one of the many nature corridors we saw along the way. It was nice to see them, to know that there is increased interest in the welfare of the animals.

Just after we passed Radium Hot Springs we stopped at a gorge and walked through it for a while. It was shared by a fast flowing river and road built over it. Powerful feelings.

And we joined the queue of campavans checking in at Fairmont Hot Springs.
We had safely arrived at out next base camp.
