Arriving

After a total of 22 hours which included stop-overs we touched down at Edmonton Airport, all six of us. Barb's brother was there to meet us and two vehicles took us into the Alberta countryside to his farm. It was a wonderful start to our epic trip.

Flying Out

Well finally the day arrived and we flew out from Melbourne bound for Canada. This small collection of pictures were taken over a week ago but we have been having trouble doing the wifi thing. This is just a sample of things to come... hopefully...

Coming Together

We are experiencing a few days before we commence our journey. Barb's mum has joined us, Madonna too. The careful coming together of the players will not be complete until the final hour. In the mean time Kelli first and later Simon spent time with us and for their own reasons are staying put in Australia. We will have much to tell them when we each return.

Food Health

We have moved into making for each other a particular veggie-laden soup. We are hoping that in the long term it will pay great dividends. Changes behind and changes ahead.

Wooden crevices

This is seeing what weathered and gnarled pieces of wood will look like when taken for mystery, with pushed exposure. Love the miniature in macro.

Tree Felling

This is a simple pictorial essay on how our fallen tree was dealt with. The strong wind a week before that caused a lot of damage over Melbourne and Sydney was the culprit. Propping it up wasn't sensible given the tree that it was. So, no more tree and a lot more firewood. Nothing stays the same in our yard from season to season.

Smart School Projects

In the last week of second term, the grade sixes presented their science projects for presentation and assessment. The work was so impressive that Peter had to make a blog about it. Some were with models and others use Power Point. The bicarb and vinegar driven volcanoes (with red food colouring) were popular. Well done to the kids... and their teachers.
