It's not every day that Peter gets totally 'crashed into', but the mark (catch) he took stayed firmly in his clutches and he had the free kick when he got up from the grass. Peter was good natured about it. He now has a bruised thigh out of it but that is all. His reflections go like this: thank goodness it was him and not a student who had the other teacher land on him, and what a curious experience to feel totally in God's hands, disoriented, going to the ground so suddenly, and even having the opportunity to remember childhood and high school experiences that were similar. It was a pretty intense match, this annual student/staff footy game at Whittlesea, and believe it or not the same teacher bowled Peter over twice that game. They really are good friends. The teacher changes from calm to amazingly competitive on that one occasion each year. The teachers won the match by just a point much to the student's dismay.
