Piper's Eleventh

We had a lovely visit with the Funks last Saturday. After a bus, train, another train, and another bus we finally arrived at 11 am to celebrate 11 years for Piper. Her birthday was actually earlier but no matter. She hoped for more practical gifts this year and we were able to gather: a compass (for orienteering), a whistle, a space blanket, swimming goggles and three cute model farm animals. Barb had found a super-looking 11th card to complete the package. Best choice Barb. And the compass was a lucky find. The compass app in mobile phones has made real compasses unnecessary!

Gord went to collect another load of firewood from the Retreat and took Piper, Jas and Peter as willing helpers. Gord has made this massive pile down the slope and has the vehicle to get there and bring the load out without slipping.

The start of Pipers wooden doll project

The successful finish of the project, using dowel in drilled holes to join the pieces

First try-out with clothes. Pretty good Piper.
