Christmas 2012

We give notice that this year we will not be producing our annual Christmas news/card. We weighed up the costs, especially the time one (distribution for 170+ people), and decided to forgo it this year. Though it is always nice to post out a "hard copy" of our family's Christmas message, we will give it a miss and see what happens. We are not sure what the consequences will be. This will be the first time since about 1980 that we have not done it. This year, we feel we need to use that lost time to create needed some head space. We also have in the back of our minds a desire to simplify our Christmas... to make it a bit more significant... to allow us to focus a little more on the meaning of the season, waiting to celebrate the memory of the birth of the Messiah, the Christ, who came to set people free. Racing towards the Christmas Day "finish line" the way we do it is not an example of freedom in the true Christmas sense. We look for space to better ponder the mystery of the Birth and how we are called into it. Shalom x 3.
