A young person turning six and expecting a large party of kids for her party can have an unbearable build up. That may have been the case for Miriam's demeanor this day. At least we were able to give her an early gift to fill in some of that time. Caleb read out the card for her and she listened quietly. Maybe what we gave was not exactly the sorts of things she really likes but it was still a special moment with her.
But the idea of a snack in the Hut changed the quiet occasion into an early party. Yes, Vegemite would do. Any bread would do. We're eating in the Hut.
Later on during the actual party, Peter caught this pic of Sally. She is such a cute baby and looks a real lot like Miriam when she was that age.
