Whittlesea Pear Phones
This project has proved popular at both schools and done in past years as well. Peter cut the shapes out of 8mm ply and colour prints a front and back. The students past the faces to the ply shapes and embellish the edges with some "bling" sticker jewels.
Whittlesea Trains
At the same time as the trucks project, Peter also supplied train kits because a different student had been asking. To have a train with one carriage involved four sets of wheels (similar to the trucks) and they were joined with a screw in hook and eye. These kits also had pictorial instructions to help students do the assembly without calling for help.
Whittlesea Articulated Trucks
After a certain amount of pressing by a student, Peter made up his mind to commit to a truck with a second bend, with an extra set of wheels. He was able to create a reasonable number of kits, each with pictorial instructions so at most of the students could manage the project alone. The results were pleasing.

Barb 60 #6
Barb's final party was blessed with a perfect day, fine and not too hot with a pleasant breeze passing through the Pepperina Trees in the park at Uni Hill. We borrowed a whole lot of chairs and tables. Barb did a whole lot of baking the night before. Daniel brought a fruit platter. Simon organised the music. There were plenty of cold drinks and certainly plenty of food. Friends and family came and went as they needed. Some of us kicked a soccer ball and threw a Frisbee. Near the end of our afternoon there, Barb gave a speech, words from the heart. Those who want to hear this can click on the LINK. Enjoy.

Barb 60 #5
Friends from the next street came and acknowledged this birthday of Barb's. People like these are so very community centred and caring. People like these are so very thoughtful, remembering Barb and finding something special to give her. And Sunshine was part of the visit. We looked after her for a week last month. It was nice seeing her again, still full of beans.

Barb 60 #4
The Funks dreamed up a really neat way to celebrate Barb's birthday by choosing a park (Curtin Square in North Carlton) and providing a picnic of yummy and nutritious food from the famous health story Terry Madra in Westgarth. We chilled out in the park, played a complicated tiggy game called "Grounder" in the playgrould and stayed there until it grew dark. Nice memories and loads of happy photo snaps. Barb was treated to some special gifts, one of a memorable photo and special love gifts from the grandkids.
